Redispersible polymer powder (RDP) is a spray-dried VAE copolymer that redisperses in water when the mortar is mixed. It forms a flexible film that improves adhesion, flexibility and cohesion in tile adhesives, renders, putties and self-levelling compounds.

How redispersible powder works
When the dry mortar is mixed with water, the powder breaks back into polymer particles. As the mortar dries and the cement hydrates, the particles join into a polymer film inside the pores and at the interfaces with the tile or substrate. This film improves adhesion, flexibility and resistance to cracking. The minimum film-forming temperature (about 0–5 °C) means the film forms even in cool site conditions.

How to choose a grade
Lower-Tg grades give more flexibility; harder grades give higher strength. Test at your target dosage against your current powder.

25 kg multi-wall paper bags with an inner PE liner. Other packing is agreed per order. TDS, SDS and a representative COA are available for every grade, and each lot ships with its COA. Request documents or a sample.

What is the difference between VAE and acrylic RDP?
VAE powders are the general-purpose choice for tile adhesives and putties. Acrylic or styrene-acrylic powders give more water resistance and are used in some exterior and waterproofing products.
How is redispersibility checked?
By redispersing the powder in water and checking the residue on a sieve and the film formed on drying. Ask for the test method with the TDS.
