Mosquito-coil-grade sodium CMC is a binder that holds coil ingredients together, helps shaping and gives a smooth surface. It makes coils tougher so they break less in packing and transport.

How CMC binds a mosquito coil
A coil is pressed from a wet mix of wood or coconut-shell powder, filler and the active ingredient. CMC dissolves in the mixing water and coats the particles; as the coil dries, it forms bridges that hold the shape. Higher-viscosity IH6 gives stronger coils that break less in packing and transport, while IM6 suits standard coils where cost matters most.
How to choose a grade
IH6 gives higher viscosity and lower salt for stronger coils; IM6 is the cost-effective choice for standard coils.

25 kg multi-wall paper bags with an inner PE liner. Other packing is agreed per order. TDS, SDS and a representative COA are available for every grade, and each lot ships with its COA. Request documents or a sample.

Does CMC affect burning?
At normal binder levels the effect is small, but check burn time and ash on your own coils.
How much CMC is used in a coil mix?
A few percent of the dry mix is typical. Start from your current binder level and adjust for strength and burning time.
Can CMC replace starch or joss powder as a binder?
It can replace part or all of it. CMC usually gives a smoother surface and less breakage; check burn time and ash.
